Gazprom: Situation in Belarus threatens stable gas transit to EU

MOSCOW, Oct 7 (PRIME) – The current political instability in Belarus creates risks of disruption of stable transit of natural gas to the E.U. through the country, as seen by PRIME in Gazprom’s materials late on Tuesday.

“The current political unrest in Belarus and the uncertainty about the future development of the situation also increase risks for regular activities of our subsidiary company Gazprom Transgaz Belarus, … and in particular, the risks of disruption of our transit through the Belarusian part of the Yamal–Europe pipeline,” the materials read.

The Yamal–Europe pipeline, with an annual capacity of 32.9 billion cubic meters of gas, delivers gas to Germany through Belarus and Poland. Currently, the company transports 80 million cubic meters of gas per day through the pipe.
